広大なアメリカならではの話。昔ながらの小売店が大手に淘汰されて近くに食料品店がなく、一番近くでも車で45分はかかってしまう。もちろん、ガソリン代を払う余裕はない、、、となれば近くにあるファーストフードが唯一の頼みの綱となる。ここでドカ食いすればころころと太る。これがFood desert 買い物難民 の実態。6:15 labeled food desert by the USDA ニュージャージー州のカムデンは農務省から食料難民地帯のお墨付きを頂戴している。
