これは、stashに違いないのですが、英語では伝統的にunder the mattressにcashをstashします。うまい言葉が見つからないので咄嗟にcloset depositといったら大うけしましたが、これはある程度話の内容がわかっていればの話（つまりclosetを小部屋でなく家具と特定した上で）で、いきなりそう言ってしまうとガラクタを箒で横の部屋に掃きこんでしまい、一応、家をきれいに見せるのようにとられかねません。dresser deposit, dresser bankといえば勘のいい人間ならすぐにわかってくれると思います。勘が悪い人間にはunder-the-mattress moneyと一番つまらない言い方をしなければなりません、、、ちょっとひねって、under-the-mattress banking, mattress bankとかいえればニュアンスがピッタリです。
